Essentially, greenwashing is a form of marketing spin. Companies might highlight a single, small eco-friendly aspect of their operation while ignoring larger, more damaging practices. For example, a fertilizer company might advertise "reduced packaging" while still using ingredients that harm soil health or contribute to water pollution. This can mislead consumers (and even other farmers!) into thinking a product is more sustainable than it actually is. It undermines genuine efforts towards sustainability and can create confusion in the marketplace.
